Dan Luo

Dr. Luo Dan is a distinguished researcher and professor at the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, where he also serves as a doctoral supervisor. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo in Canada. Dr. Luo has been recognized as a “Zhang Dayu Youth Scholar” at the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics.
His research primarily focuses on addressing key scientific issues in lithium metal batteries, solid-state batteries, and lithium-sulfur batteries, as well as critical technological challenges such as dry electrode preparation and electrochemical interconnection characterization. Dr. Luo’s work aims to improve the reaction kinetics and interface stability of electrodes, and to develop efficient electrode structures. He has made significant contributions to the design of active sites in cathodes, functionalization of SEI layers on lithium anodes, and the construction of ion transport channels in solid electrolytes.
Dr. Luo has published over 150 SCI papers, with more than 50 as the first or corresponding author in top-tier journals such as Nature Communications, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Advanced Materials, and Chemical Society Reviews. His work has been cited over 8500 times, and he has an H-index of 54.
